Haryana govt constitutes authority to empower women

Chandigarh:The Haryana government has constituted a separate commission which would empower women and review gender budgeting by ministries in the state.

The State Mission Authority, under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, would empower women socially, economically and educationally apart from monitoring and reviewing gender budgeting by ministries or departments, according to an official release here today.

The SMA would function through State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW), which would be established by funds from Central government.

The Director, Women and Child Development would be ex-officio Mission Director. He would head the SRCW, to be located at the Directorate.
